Ingredients

1 piece of garlic

½ lb dagaa (dried fish)

½ juice of lemon

1 tomato
-
1–2 onions

2 tablespoons red palm oil

2 cups of water

1 coconut and 1 tbsp groundnut oil

1 red pepper (optional)

Salt to taste
Methods

Fry the dagaa without oil until it turns golden brown.

Place between the palms of your hands to remove loose scales and sand.

Wash thoroughly.

Cut the tomato, onion and red pepper into small neat pieces.

Put 2 cups of water into a pan.

Add the onion, tomato, pepper, palm oil and salt.

When the water starts to boil, add the dagaa.

Continue cooking slowly until very little liquid is left. Avoid stirring too much to prevent the dagaa from breaking.

Serve with ugali, potatoes or mashed bananas.
