Ingredients (serves 4 people)

250g wheat flour

150g butter

50g jam

65ml milk

2ml vanilla essence

150g sugar

6 egg

2g backing powder

50g icing sugar
Methods

Pre-heat the oven to 150°c

Grease the baking tins

Beat the eggs and add vanilla essence. Then, add them gradually to the creamed mixture

Cream the butter and sugar until light, white and fluffy

Slowly sieve the flour with baking powder into the mixture while folding in one direction by using a metal spoon.

Slowly add a little milk and continue to stir in one direction until the mixture drops softly

Place the mixture in two greased baking tins

Bake at 150°c for 15-20 minutes in a pre-heated oven

Cool it on a cooling rack and make a jam sandwich

Lightly dredge the top with icing sugar. You can also use any suitable table decoration

Serve it on a plate
