Ingredients

250g wheat flour

50g margarine

125ml milk or water

2g salt

2g yeast

25g raisins
-
56g sugar
Methods

Grease a baking tin.

Sieve the flour with sugar, yeast and salt into a bowl and rub with 20g of margarine.

Pour warm milk into the flour and mix well.

Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.

Cover with a damp cloth and leave in a warm place.

When doubled in size, re-knead and prove for 20 minutes.

Roll the dough, brush with 30g of fat and add raisins mixed with caster sugar.

Roll up as for Swiss roll and cut into thick slices.

Place close together in a greased baking tin.

Prove for 15 minutes and bake in a pre-heated oven at 150–170°C for 15–20 minutes.

Serve on a plate.
