How to Make Chenga at Home Step by Step Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pounded maize or rice

  • ½ cup fine maize flour

  • ½ cup sour milk or cream

  • 1 pinch salt

Methods

  • Soak the maize overnight.

  • Cook in plenty of water until soft. Add salt.

  • Mix the flour with water to a soft paste.

  • Add the maize and stir well all the time until it thickens.

  • Continue boiling until the flour is cooked, about 10 minutes.

  • Remove from heat and stir in the milk.

  • Serve cold.

  • NOTE: Instead of sour milk, fresh milk and lemon juice can be used.
