How to Make Digestive Biscuits at Home Step by Step Recipe

Ingredients

  • 250g wholemeal flour

  • 2ml vanilla essence

  • 3g salt

  • 120ml milk

  • 7g baking powder

  • 120g butter or margarine

  • 45g wheat flour

  • 120g caster sugar

Methods

  • Pre-heat the oven to 130°C.

  • Grease a baking tray.

  • Sieve the wheat flour and baking powder into a bowl. Add salt and sugar and mix well. Sieve the wholemeal flour separately and mix with the flour mixture.

  • Rub the butter or margarine into the mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.

  • Add milk and knead to obtain a stiff dough.

  • Roll out thinly and cut into desired shapes using a medium-sized biscuit cutter. Prick them.

  • Place on the greased baking tray and bake at 150°C for 20–30 minutes until golden brown. Remove and cool.

  • Serve as required.
