  • 250g flour

  • Pinch of salt

  • 75g butter

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 30g of yeast

Methods

  • Sieve flour and salt into a bowl. Cream the yeast with the sugar.

  • Melt the butter. Add the milk, warm it and add it to the creamed yeast. Pour into the flour with the egg.

  • Beat well for 5 minutes. Cover with a damp cloth and leave to rise in a warm place.

  • When well risen, knead lightly. Roll out the dough and cut with a doughnut cutter. Leave to prove for 20 minutes.

  • Fry in deep hot fat to a golden brown colour and toss in castor sugar mixed with cinnamon.
