Ingredients

½ lb dried mixed beans

2 tablespoons groundnuts

1 tablespoon oil

1 tablespoon flour

¼ litre hot water

1 onion

Salt to taste
Methods

Wash and soak the beans overnight.

Remove the skins.

Put in a pan and cover with water.

Boil until the beans are cooked (about 2 hours), adding more water a little at a time.

Chop the onion and fry until soft but not brown.

Slowly add flour and fry until light brown. Add the water a little at a time, stirring until it boils. Add salt.

Thoroughly mash the beans and add to the sauce. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes.

When ready, it should be like ugali but slightly softer.

Serve hot with boiled or fried vegetables.
