How to Make Macaroni Cheese at Home Step by Step Recipe

Ingredients

  • 50g macaroni

  • 50g cheese

  • 3 shakes of pepper

  • Cheese sauce

  • 15g salt

  • ½ teaspoon mustard

  • Plain flour

  • 250ml milk

Methods

  • Boil the macaroni in two pints of water until tender, about 10 minutes.

  • Grate the cheese. Drain the cooked macaroni and place it in an ovenproof dish.

  • Melt the margarine in a pan, add the flour and stir for about 3 minutes using a wooden spoon. Do not allow the flour to brown.

  • Remove from heat and gradually add the milk, stirring constantly.

  • Return the pan to the heat and continue cooking until the sauce thickens. Season well and add the grated cheese.

  • Mix the cheese sauce with the macaroni in the dish.

  • Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top.
