INGREDIENTS
For the Dough:
- Â Â 255ml Milk
- Â Â 25g Compressed yeast
- Â Â 1 Egg
- Â Â 110g Sugar
- Â Â 510g Wheat flour
- Â Â 105g Softened butter
- Â Â 3g Salt
- Â Â 1 Yolk

For Stuffing:
- Â Â 150g Poppy seeds
- Â Â 130g Sugar
- Â Â 150g Frozen pitted cherries
- Â Â 50g Softened butter
- Â Â 7g Powdered sugar
- Â Â 7g Lemon zest
- Â Â 6g Ground cinnamon
 PROCEDURES
1. Dilute yeast in warm milk with 1 tablespoon sugar and 2 tablespoons flour. Leave for 20 minutes.
2. Thaw cherries and squeeze out juice.
3. Mix flour, remaining sugar, salt, butter, and egg.
4. Combine both mixtures and knead soft dough. Rise for 60 minutes.
5. Mix poppy seeds, butter, sugar, and milk.
6. Divide the dough into 2 parts.
7. Preheat oven to 180°C / 356°F. Roll out the dough, spread the poppy seed filling.
8. Add cherries, sprinkle with lemon zest and cinnamon.
9. Form a roll. The seam should be at the bottom.
10. Brush with egg yolk and sugar mixture. Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
11. Bake for 30 40 minutes.
12. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
