How to Make Steamed Fish at Home Step by Step Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sliced fish

  • 1 piece of ginger (pounded)

  • 1 stalk spring onion

  • 1 carrot, shredded into strips

  • 1 dessertspoon thin soya sauce

  • 1 teaspoon corn flour

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • Pepper and salt

  • 4 mushrooms, soaked in water

Methods

  • Clean and wash the fish. Make two slanting slits on either side of the fish.

  • Cut spring onions to ½ their length.

  • Mix corn flour with water and soya sauce.

  • Place fish on a plate smeared with ¼ teaspoon salt and a little pepper.

  • Sprinkle pounded ginger, carrot and spring onion over it.

  • Pour the corn flour blended with soya sauce and water over the fish. Steam for 10–15 minutes.

  • Transfer to a warmed dish and garnish with sliced tomato, cucumber and chilli.

  • Serve hot.
