Ingredients

90g margarine

90g sugar

2 eggs

Few drops vanilla essence

120g wheat flour

1 rounded teaspoon baking powder

Some milk

1 tablespoon smooth jam
Methods

Cream sugar and margarine together.

Beat the eggs and stir one after another into the mixture.

Stir in the vanilla essence.

Sift the flour and baking powder on top and fold into the mixture. Add milk and continue folding.

Grease the pudding basin and put 1 tablespoon of jam at the bottom.

Pour the mixture over the jam and tie greaseproof paper over the top.

Steam for about 40 minutes.

Turn out and serve.
